Online play rules near Gateway Casinos
The casino at 30 Bay St. is a building people walk into, not a website. Ontario sets separate rules for online play, and the Bay Street desk explains them below.

How the online market works
Ontario has a regulated online casino market. A private site must meet two conditions. It must be registered by the AGCO, the regulator. The second condition is an operating agreement between the site and iGaming Ontario, known in short as iGO. The iGO directory lists the authorized sites, and any site name can be checked against it.
OLG.ca is the government-run online casino. Only people aged 19 or older may play online, and they must be physically in Ontario while playing. A site that takes Ontario players without AGCO registration is not a legal operator in Ontario. Being reachable from a screen in Ontario does not make a site legal here.
BetGuard for online sites
iGaming Ontario runs BetGuard, at betguard.ca. A single sign-up removes a person from every online gambling site in Ontario that is regulated, and OLG.ca is one of them. Someone may set a custom length, or pick 6 months, 5 years or 1 year.
Casinos that people visit in person, like the one on Bay Street, fall outside BetGuard. Those use My PlayBreak, OLG's self-exclusion program. Self-exclusion is a request by a person to be barred for a set period. For My PlayBreak, call 1-800-387-0098 (OLG Support Centre), talk to casino staff, or visit a PlaySmart Centre to enrol.
How this guide is paid
The Bay Street desk earns money only through links placed on the home page. Each link shows the Ad label: in the menu there is a button, another block sits just past the first screen, and one more is near the bottom. All three lead to a private online casino, the only partner; the Bay Street desk receives a commission from it, and it may be replaced. That company is a separate private business: not the casino on Bay Street, not Gateway Casinos and not OLG.
The Bay Street desk accepts no wagers and does not open accounts. Anyone can look up an online site, including the partner, in the iGO directory of authorized sites.
Short questions, short answers
Is online casino play legal for people in Ontario?
Yes, on regulated sites. The AGCO must register each private site, which also needs an iGaming Ontario operating agreement. The government runs OLG.ca, its own online casino. Online play is limited to people who are 19 or older and are in Ontario in person.
How can someone check an online casino site?
Look for the site in the directory of authorized sites that iGaming Ontario publishes. A site that takes Ontario players without AGCO registration is not a legal operator in Ontario.
Can someone in Michigan play on an Ontario site?
The Ontario rules do not allow it. To play online in Ontario, a person must be at least 19 and must be physically inside the province while playing.
Why are some links on the home page labelled Ad?
The links are how the guide is paid. Each link goes to a single partner, a privately owned online casino, which pays the guide commission and may be swapped for another. The guide is not the casino and is not connected with Gateway Casinos or OLG.
